2025 TOURNAMENT RESULTS

Annual Golf Outing & Tournament

Scottsdale, Arizona

Friday, May 2nd through Monday, Monday 5th, 2025

DAY ONE: Friday, May 2nd

This year’s Par One Golf Club, Scottsdale Outing and Tournament, was another huge success. We had 16 golfers attend this year and enjoyed a weekend filled with brotherhood, camaraderie, and great golf. The day started with a great brunch at Sugar Jam The Southern Kitchen in Scottsdale.
Day One Tournament Results: Desert Canyon Golf Course

Players in yellow did not participate in the Tournament. Ernie Edwards led all tournament players, chased closely by Reggie Brookins, Kirk Webley, and Darron Elrington.

Day Two: Saturday, May 3rd

Day two’s challenging round was at the perennial Ocotillo Golf Course. This 27-hole, water world of a golf course is both beautiful and dangerous, with water coming into play on 22 of the 27 holes.

Day Two Tournament Results: Ocotillo Golf Course

Kirk Webley won round two, which pushed him into first place after two rounds. His chasers are Darron Elrington, Ernie Edwards, and Sherman Sweeney in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, respectively, for the tournament.

Congrats to all Skins winners and to Kirk Webley for winning Poker Golf with a par of 4s

Day Three: Sunday, May 4th

Day three greeted our golfers with a slightly windy day to make a beautiful and moderately difficult course with elevation changes and dog-legs a little more difficult.

Day Three Tournament Results: Lookout Mountain Golf Course

Darron Elrington won round three, which pushed him into first place after three rounds. His chasers are Kirk Webley, Ernie Edwards, and Sherman Sweeney in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, respectively, for the tournament.

Skins & Poker Golf Results:

Congrats to all skins winners and to Darron Elrington for winning Poker Golf with a par of 9s

Day Four: Monday, May 5th

Day four greeted our golfers with much lower temps and a little drizzle to start the day. Days 1 and 2 were the hottest days with 90-degree weather, and it got cooler on day three, and day four was the coolest and perfect for desert golf. The sun started shining before tee off, and players had to adjust to the cooler temps and their balls not carrying like they did in the first three days. Verado Golf Course is a challenging and long course, playing from the blue tees, and the scores reflected that. Most golfers didn’t mind because the course was so beautiful and manicured. It was like playing in golf heaven.
Day Three Tournament Results: Verado GC – Founders Course
Darron Elrington played his worst golf on the final day, resulting in losing the top spot. Ernie Edwards also faltered at the final hole, shooting a 10, 6-under, on the par-4, 18th hole to finish out of contention in fourth place. Kirk Webley played consistently enough to move into the top spot and become our 2025 tournament champion. Darron Elrington finished in 2nd place, and Sherman Sweeney also played just well enough to take the third spot, and finish in the money.
Next year will be our 20th anniversary of our club outing and tournament, and plans are already in the works to make it the best yet. I wish you all a great rest of 2025 and look forward to seeing everyone back next year. Remember to tell a friend to come out and join in the fun and great golf.
